Journey to Homeownership with the Pounders Family

Meet the Pounder’s family and follow them along their journey to homeownership with Crossland Homes of Asheville.

In 2016, Josh and Jordyn met and fell in love, getting married shortly after in June of 2017. Afterwards, Jordyn and daughter Madi Grace moved into Josh’s “bachelor pad.” With Jordyn’s career restoring furniture, she was able to make the house a home. The family repainted, added antique furniture, and added shiplap to achieve the farmhouse design that Jordyn loved.

After spending a few years in the space, the couple decided they wanted to start working towards their dream of owning a home in the countryside. While debating whether to purchase a fixer upper, the couple discovered Clayton Built® manufactured homes. The Southern Belle model particularly stood out to the couple.

They searched for a home center in the area that carried the model and found Crossland Homes of Candler. They soon visited the Home Center to tour homes on display with help from home consultant Caleb.

“My little girl ran into it and picked out her bedroom – she was in love with it!” said Jordyn. “When we walked in the front door and saw the kitchen I fell in love. I about hit the floor.”

The couple was thrilled and planned to start building as soon as possible. This was in early 2020. Shortly after their purchase, the COVID-19 pandemic began to spread worldwide, which caused some delays in the construction of their home. Despite this, Caleb and the Asheville team did their best to keep the family updated on all the progress and when they would get to move into their home.

By mid-April, the home was ready for the Pounders Family. They quickly began to unpack and make the house a home, spending the night just two days after getting the keys. Now the family gets to enjoy their space by decorating, raising their chickens, and growing as a family.
